OK, so shoot me.

I'm an idiot. I forgot to bring my camera home with me this past weekend so I wasn't able to take any pictures of anything! Doh! So I will just have to give the play by play with no pics. Sorry.

Friday night I got into Humble around 8:00ish so I just hung out with the parentals and Charley girl. Since Mom and Dad lost their beloved Sonora last month the house just hasn't been the same since. So it was nice to have a doggy back in the house. Mom and Dad were impressed with Charley's mad ball skills and the fact that when you throw the ball she will stay when you tell her to. She doesn't like it but she will stay until you tell her to "go get it". They were also impressed that she will high five you; with both paws, and then both paws at the same time. We are working on "go to your bed" when gets into trouble or when we have thrown the ball like 900 times and are tired and don't want to play anymore. That girl is relentless!

So Saturday morning Mom and I ate a quick breakfast then started in on purging things from the house and getting ready for the garage sale next month. Mom and Dad have lived in the same house for 30 years so you can imagine how much stuff they have. But Mom and I did well and knocked out the hall closet, the dinning room and the laundry room. And while we purged what she didn't need we organized everything when putting it back. And if you know me at all you know I LOVE to organize. Seriously it gets my rocks off when I can organize anything. I love when there is a place for everything and everything is in it's place.

Sean and Sydney came over about 5:00, which was good because that was just about quittin' time for me and Mom. Whew! Sydney is so tall! She now comes up to about where my boobs are. Really? She's 5 for cryin' out loud. But like father like daughter I guess. Sean is 6'3 so it was inivitable that she would be tall. She has the longest legs and an even longer toursue. {I wonder if it's healthy to be jealous of a 5 year old.} But I digress. She wanted to play the Wi so we played Wi Resort, which if you haven't played it's a really fun game. You get to do all the things you would do if you were staying at a resort like, hand glidding, fishing, golf, wake boarding, and jet skiing. We played the jet ski game a lot and let me just tell you... my arms are sore. Sad, but true. You have to plug the nun-chuck remote into the Wi remote and hold both remotes on their sides like you would hold the handles of the jet ski. Sounds easy right? Well I guess since you don't have the actual handles to rest your hands on that you use more muscles just holding your arms out. YEOW! My arms are sore! Guess I need to add a few more pounds to my weights when I work out. Ugh.

So later Saturday night, after Sydney went to bed, I met up with some friends I haven't seen in a while. Todd and Pam picked me up and we headed to Norton's to hang out and watch the fight. If you don't know what fight I'm talking about see my post here about my boyfriend GSP. Jenny, Matt, Tiffany and her boyfriend Ronnie met up with us later and we had a great time. GSP won and kept his belt and I got to hang out with my friends, it was a great night. The only thing that could have made it better would be if my hubby had been there with me.

Speaking of my hubby, wondering what he did all weekend while "his girls" were out of town? Well after Judo on Friday night, Griff came home and gathered some things to go out to the Perd to meet some friends that were camping out there. {The Perd is short for Perdenalles, which is the river that feeds into Lake Travis. Since we have had so much rain lately there is actually water there unlike the last 2 summers.} Anyway, so Griff met up with our friends and they hung out into the wee hours of the morning I'm sure. Saturday morning Griff hitched a ride on our friends boat for a little wake board action. Unfortunatly since Griff knee still hasn't quite recovered from his surgery last year he didn't get to wake board. He did however get to kite board. Kite boarding is just what it sounds like, it's a kite that is attached to a wake board. Griff rode that for a while until he got the kite stuck in a tree. But no worries, monkey boy Kurtis, climmed right up that tree and untangled the kite for little Griffy.

Later that night, after leaving the Perd, instead of going out to watch the fights Griff ordered the fight at our house and just laid low. He was tired from all the late night partying the night before I'm sure.

All in all, it was a good weekend for all 3 of us. We have another jam packed weekend this weekend as we are heading to the ranch Friday night for the annual Easter Picnic. Well, the Easter festivities are actually starting on Thursday night with a bunch of my family coming to Austin for the night to have some tasty crawfish at my Aunt's restaurant Sambet's! Can't wait!! Aiiiiiiieeeee!

My "Other" Love

OK, so tomorrow night my “other” love, {just kidding of course}, George Rush St. Pierre, or GSP as he is know in the Mixed Martial Art world, is fighting Dan Hardy

to maintain his welterweight champion status. Georges St-Pierre has been unstoppable since regaining the title in 2008, and plans on extending his reign and his six fight winning streak against British bomber Dan “The Outlaw” Hardy, who is unbeaten in the UFC and fresh off wins over Marcus Davis and Mike Swick.

Not only is GSP a power house in the octagon but he is “easy on the eyes” as well. See for yourself here. Or here. Or here. Or how about here? And, as if your lady parts aren’t on full alert all ready check out his calendar. Yum!

When Griff and I first started dating, I was roped into watching all these UFC fights with him. {For those of you who don’t know Griff has a black belt in Tae Kwan Do and is training for belts in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and Judo.} So anyway, like I was saying I was roped into watching all these fights. I didn’t mind too much because, one, I was with Griff, and two, I like sports of any kind so I was excited about following something new. So one night while we were watching the fights I happened to catch a glimpse of one of the fighters, George Rush St. Pierre. And O-M-G! Can I just tell you I about fell out of my chair? This man is H-O-T, and because he is French

Canadian, and from Montreal, Canada he has a wonderfully sexy accent. And ladies, I ask you, who doesn’t love a man in a suit? Every time GSP is shown in the audience watching another fight he is always in a suit. Being from Texas and a true southerner I’m usually not a fan of anything north of the pan handle but for a gander at GSP I decided to make an exception.

So even though I will not be with my man this weekend, and by “my man” I mean my wonderful husband who begrudgingly accepts my crush on GSP, I will be watching the fight. I am going home to see my family this weekend but rest assured there will be a little 4’11 Texas brunette hootin’ and hollerin’ for her Canadian crush.

An just in case you are wondering, yes, Griff has an equally massive crush on a certain lady. You might have heard of her. She's Victoria Secret model that goes by the name of Marissa Miller. And to be fair, she has her own calender too.

Nothing much to report on the Dabadie front ‘cept a few odds and ends.

The purchase of our first home is still moving forward. Yay! {Not fast enough in my opinion} We are just going through the motions of waiting for the much anticipated closing date. Just about every night Griff and talk about the “new” house. We talk about the yard and the fact that we can’t wait to mow and weed it. {Seriously, the back yard is a jungle} We talk about paint colors, appliances, and granite counter tops. We talk about all the “firsts” we will have together in our new home. I am so lucky to have married my best friend and love of my life and I couldn’t imagine sharing this experience with anyone else.

Our Charley girl is doing well. Last Saturday morning Griff took her to the Vet to get her yearly shots. Can you believe she weighs 67 pounds now? Everyone at the Vet said how pretty she is and how shinny her coat is. {I’m sure it has nothing to do with the $75 dog food we feed her each month, or the bacon flavored or rotisserie chicken flavored sauce we put on her food each night. Did I mention she’s a bit spoiled?} She is seriously the light of our lives and we fall in love with her all over again every day. {In reality we know she’s a “dog” but she’s our child, I mean dog} She goes crazy for car rides so she can stick her head out the window and feel the breeze in her face. She’s crazy for sticks, {even if they are still attached, poor trees never saw her comin’}, and crazy for tennis balls, of any color. She naws on those poor tennis balls and gets them good and gummy for ya, gross.

Here is an older pic of Charley with her beloved tennis ball.

My parents yellow labby, {RIP Sonora}, L-O-V-E-D her some tennis balls too but only the original neon yellow colored ones. Sonora would have nothing to do with the colored tennis balls you get from places like Pet Smart or Pet-Co. And just like all the dogs in our family, spoiled Miss Sonora got what she wanted.

Here are couple of older pics of Sonora at the bay house.

This weekend I’m going home to Atascocita to help Mom organize the mounds of stuff she plans to sell at her garage sale next month. {I’m hoping I can score some goodies for myself too!!} I know one weekend of organizing Mom’s stuff will not be enough but I am booked solid for like the next month with Easter at the ranch, weddings to attend 2 different weekends, and moving to our first home. I’m also excited to be going home to see my Sydney girl. Sydney is my brother’s daughter and too cute for words! She just turned 5 in January and she’s more than half my height already. {Let’s be real, that’s not hard to do.} Everything that comes out of that girl’s mouth cracks me up and I can’t wait to see her!

Here is an older pic of sweet Miss Sydney!

Till next time! I hope everyone is doing well and having a wonderful week.

Wedding ring? What wedding ring?

Well I'm sure it had to happen sometime. Griff lost his wedding ring. Well... he lost it for a couple of hours at least. We found it but not with out a trip to Academy for a metal detector.

This is a picture of our backyard.

We love the backyard in our little rent house because it backs up the the Greenbelt and we see deer on a regular basis. So rewind to last Saturday. Griff comes homes from a day of playing paintball and suggests we make some frozen margaritas, sit our on back porch, open up our back gate and throw the ball with Charley. {Do you see where this is going?} So we're sittin', and we're throwin'. Griff is on the left side of me and from the way he's sitting he's having to throw the ball with his right hand. {Griff is left handed.} Charley is very vocal when she doesn't like something and she'll bark or growl and let you know. So she starts in with the growling and we assume it's because Griff, throwing with his right hand, is not throwing the ball far enough for Charley. So Griff stands up, walks out into the yard, and tells Charley he's "gonna huck this ball". And he does... along with his wedding ring. Yup, that's right, his wedding ring came flying off his finger and landed some where in those woods you see in the above picture. Awesome.

Much to Griff's amazement, {and probably yours}, I didn't freak out. I mean, he didn't mean to huck his ring into the woods right? The ring that was placed on his finger the day he married the love of his life. The ring that holds so much sentimental value? He didn't mean to, I'm sure of it. No seriously, all kidding aside, he didn't mean too.

So the search begins. And continues. And continues. And continues, and it's getting darker by the minute. Then I suggest he should go to Academy, get a metal detector and we can return it the next day after we find the ring. {Sorry Academy but desperate times call for desperate measures and you guys sure are proud of your metal detectors judging by the price.}
So anyway, Griff comes back with the metal detector we put it together and start searching. And we're finding things! Just not wedding rings. Damn. Keep searching. Losing light. After 30 minutes of searching I start to cry. "Beep, beep, beep" "OMG, this is it, I can feel it!!" "EUREKA!!!" We found it!!!! Then I start to cry again.
So like I said, I guess it had to happen sometime.

Inspection Complete!

Well, Griff and I met with the inspector yesterday at the house we are looking to buy... and the house passed with flying colors! The inspector even said "this is a house he would buy"! Really?! Wow! I feel much better knowing that their is nothing majorly wrong with the house. There are however, a few minor things that need to be fixed, and we will ask the seller to fix those. For example, there are some light switches that need some attention. You flip a switch to the on position thinking the fan in the living room will come on and instead the front porch light comes on. {Minor wiring issues, good thing Griff is electrically inclined} Amy reminded me of an episode of Friends were Monica & Rachel have moved into Chandler and Joey's apt. and Monica spends the entire episode trying to figure out what a light switch in the kitchen goes to. {That would be me by the way; Amy and Hannah are convinced the Monica character in Friends was written with me in mind.}

We are moving closer and closer to owning our first home and we couldn't be more excited!!

Bring On The Inspection!

Next step, inspection! We have scheduled the inspection for this Thursday. So as long as everything checks out, and I don't see a reason it wouldn't, then the house is officially ours!!

Ah! I still can't believe it!

{I don't know why I keep thinking of the Inspector Gadget cartoon from my childhood when I hear, say, or think of the word inspection. Ah, youth.}

We're Under Contract!

We're under contract! We're under contract! We're under contract! So after some negotiations back and forth between us and the seller we are officially under contract! Next step, inspection. {The Inspector Gadget theme song just popped into my head... Duh-nah-nah-nah-nah, Inspector Gadget, Duh-nah-nah-nah-nah-dah-dah, ooh, ooh} OK, enough childhood flashbacks and onto pictures of the house.

Master Bath with the hideous blue and awful sailboat wall paper that will be coming down! However, the does bath room bost a large garden tub with a seperate shower, and the toilet even has it's very own little room. {do you have to be British to call it a water closet?}

Master bedroom, thats big enough for a sitting room.

Laundry {obviously} The door you see leads to the garage, {that has a black & white checkered floor! Too funny.}

Guest bath, just needs a few cosmetic updates.

2 guest rooms, {well technically there are 3 guest rooms but we will be using one guest room as an office}

Dinning room

Living room with a fireplace and wonderful windows that let in T-O-N-S of light.

Large kitchen, {there's that hideous blue again}, with an island and lots of cabinets and counter space. {I will finally be able to take our wedding gifts out of their boxes and give them a home!}

And finally, the large backyard for our Charley girl to run and play!

Words can't describe how excited Griff and I are! We love to get our hands dirty and are looking forward to working on something that we can call our very own.

Home Sweet Home... we hope.

Ah!!! O-M-G, last night Griff and I made an offer on what could be our first home! It's so scary and exciting all at the same time. It's a beautiful one story, with lots of trees, 4 bedrooms, an open floor plan, and a big backyard for our Charley girl!! We are trying not to mentally move in, but how can you not? "The couch should go here, we should paint the walls this color." Hopefully we hear back from the seller sometime today, fingers crossed!!!

Here's a sneak peak at the house!

I'll add more pictures of the inside if our offer is accepted.
{Don't want to jinx anything!!}

THe House Hunt Begins!!

Lately I've been some what lackadaisical with my blogs posts. {Sorry to all 4 or 5 of you that read this blog.} Last month was crazy!! We had my birthday to celebrate, Nick's birthday to celebrate, our Mustache and Cleavage Birthday Party, and my runway debut, whew, what a month. February is the shortest month of the year after all and that's a lot to cram into 28 days! I'm exhausted.

We are now into the month of March and into Spring!! Thank God! I am so over winter weather and ready for warmer days and some serious sunshine. The warm weather is just one of the many reason I live in the South. So bring on the humidity, the frizzy hair, the make-up runs, and the days when you wonder why you even bothered to shower at all.

This weekend Griff and I start our house hunt and we are soooo excited!! While talking about homes last night we came to the realization that we are pretty much over our rent house. Though we love our little house and our family of three, the house is not ours and not somewhere we can raise a family. So on Saturday we are meeting with our realtor, and friend, Myles to look at some homes. We can't wait to see what's out there and get to get this show on the road, so to speak.

Ryan's Slipery but Awesome Model Debut!

OK, by no stretch of the imagination am I any kind of a model, and that was proven last Thursday night when I made my model debut. {Just in case you didn’t see my previous post, I was asked to be in a bridal fashion show.} I was so excited but surprisingly a little nervous. The image of Carrie in her 5 inch stiletto’s busting her arce when she made her runway debut kept creeping into my head. “Please don’t fall, please don’t fall”

Thankfully I didn’t fall but I did slip… twice. The halter dress I was wearing, I call it the “Vegas Dress”, looked like something you’d wear to your Vegas themed wedding and totally not my style, was made of slippery satin, see thru beaded mid section and had a long train. When I got to the end of the runway, I mastered my best Tyra pose, {pause, arms on hips, shift hip right, shift hip left}, awesome, nailed it. Then I turned to strut my derriere back up the runway, when whoops… yup, I slipped. Awesome, first time on runway and I slip, fantastic. Amy, Han and Mom said they saw me bobble but that no one else noticed. Riiiiiiiiiiiiiight. You guys are so sweet.

Slips aside I had a blast and would T-O-T-A-L-L-Y do it again. I mean how many people can say they were given the chance to walk "the runway"? Not many. Well, add one more to that list my friends cause this girl is takin' it all the way to Paris! {And yes, Han, you can be my assistant.}

Thank you Mom for driving up from Humble to see me. Thanks to Aunt Deborah for missing your Grey's night, Hannah too. Amy, Nick, Sarah and her friend Lisa just came for the free alcohol and cupcakes, kidding. And thanks to my awesome husband for missing his Judo class to see his wife strut her stuff down the catwalk.
